OneLinerImage: Photosynthesis - Photosynthesis is the process in which green plants and algae utilise the energy in sunlight to synthesise complex carbohydrates from carbon dioxide and water, releasing oxygen as a by-product. This process occurs within structures called chloroplasts. These in turn, contain characteristic arrangements of membranes (thylakoids) the structure of which can be seen with an electron microscope. This OneLiner contains these main elements: the green and yellow of the pigments (chlorophyll and xanthophyll); the sunlight and the repeating thylakoid motif arranged into a sunflower-like pattern with the arrays of the thylakoid membrane motifs forming a simplified version of the florets at the heart of a sunflower.
This fine art OneLinerImage is available as a signed, numbered, limited edition (250) giclee print.
