OneLinerImage: Banghasome - This Image is a tribute to Alec Bangham FRS. The structure depicted is based on electron microscopic studies by Alec Bangham and Bob Horne that led to the discovery and characterisation of liposomes (originally known in the lab as Bangasomes or Banghasomes – literally Bangham’s bodies) at what is now the Babraham Institute. Liposomes are multi-layered vesicles consisting of alternating layers of phospholipid and water. Originally studied as models of membranes they have since been developed as agents for delivery of vaccines and drugs and in cosmetics. The colours approximate to the Corporate colours of the Babraham Institute.
This fine art OneLinerImage is available as a signed, numbered, limited edition (250) giclee print.
